Palliative Care in Oncology Symposium
This symposium on palliative care addresses physicians, palliative care specialists, nurses, hospice professionals, social workers and others. This year’s symposium will provide information that is vital to the entire cancer care continuum, from laboratory research regarding biologic mechanisms of symptoms to caring for patients’ psychosocial and spiritual needs during cancer treatment and at end of life. There will be sessions for topics such as immuno-therapy and disparities for underserved populations, from presentation of the latest laboratory research through the effects of those data on clinical care. The symposium also offers networking opportunities, for example a Trainee and Early-Career Luncheon and faculty-led Poster Walks. Lunchtime Meet the Faculty Networking Roundtables provide an opportunity for attendees to network with colleagues across specialties, as well as with faculty and other experts in the field in a casual setting. The programme will also include interaction opportunities with colleagues and one-on-one discussions with palliative care experts.
