Quality of Life Group Meeting during the EORTC Groups Annual Meeting (EGAM)
The aims of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), which was founded in 1962, are to develop, conduct, coordinate, and stimulate translational and clinical research in Europe to improve the management of cancer and related problems by increasing survival but also patient quality of life. The EORTC Quality of Life Group (QLG) was created in 1980 in order to advise the EORTC Headquarters and the various cooperative groups on the design, implementation and analysis of QOL studies within selected phase III clinical trials. A broad range of professionals are active in the Group, including oncologists, radiotherapists, surgeons, psychiatrists, palliative care specialists, psychologists, social workers and research methodologists, from fifteen European countries as well as Australia, Canada and the United States. The EORTC Quality of Life Group meets twice a year.
