Interview with Dr. Dorothy Keefe at the MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting on 25 June 2015

MASCC Interview Keeve-HD

Dr. Keefe reviews the possibilities of the Internet and e-health with regard to cancer: this can be a useful supplementary tool in the various steps such as prevention, detection, diagnostics, staging, therapy, monitoring, survivorship and end-of-life care, thus increasing the efficacy of the treatment.

The interview also includes information on the prevention of mucositis, with an overview of the current research on genomic risk prediction with regard to mucositis and other toxicities, as well as the differences between the various courses and patterns of mucositis, depending on whether it is induced by radiation, chemotherapy or targeted therapies.

Dr. Keefe then provides an outlook to the future of supportive care.

Dr. Dorothy Keefe, professor of Cancer Medicine at the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia

Dr. Keefe was interviewed by Dr. Anton Snegovoy, oncologist at the N.N.Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center in Moscow and  editor of the Quality of Life Resource Center.
