Nausea and Vomiting: Antiemetic research and progress
Richard J. Gralla, recorded at TAO (Transatlantic Oncology meeting), Nov 21-22, 2013
Richard Gralla gives this presentation instead of Fausto Roila (Medical Oncology, Terni, Italy), who was on the program, but unable to come at the last minute. Richard Gralla will present areas of antiemetic research and both look into the future and review how we got here. He briefly honors Steven Grunberg, who passed away in 2013.
Richard Gralla starts his presentation by advocating better use of the most effective anti-neoplastic agents and to ultimately maximize the patients’ Quality of Life (QoL). Proper skills are required to achieve this. He goes into the current route for drug development and stresses that not well conducted (clinical) studies cause discussion concerning effectiveness of therapeutic options.
